Every season, we raise a small number of heritage breed pigs to market size and sell the pork directly to customers. We feed pigs a non-GMO feed and we always provide pigs access to fresh pasture and tons of vegetables.  We strive to create a comfortable and low-stress environment for our animals because we believe it leads to happy pigs and delicious pork for our customers! 

35 lb Sampler Packs are $350, fully processed and delivered direct to your door. Sampler Packs include: fresh pork shoulder roasts; thick-cut, bone-in Iowa chops; smoked bacon; smoked ham; smoked ham hock; fresh ground pork; breakfast sausage; and Italian sausage. Uncured Sampler Packs are available for reservation (substituting fresh, uncured pork cuts for cured products or products with MSG like smoked bacon, smoked ham, or breakfast sausage). Purchase this Sampler Pack deposit product on TRF’s online store. Pay $25 with a credit/debit card or click COD in checkout and send a $25 check to 23719 Hazel Rd. Elkport, IA 52044. Reservations are pending until deposit is received. 

Step 2: Pay your invoice when we deliver your Sampler Pack to your door

We expect to start deliveries of Sampler Packs in mid-December. Enjoy your pastured pork!

Ready to order a half hog? What’s next?

Step 1: Reserve your half hog

Purchase this half hog deposit product on TRF’s online store. Pay $51 with a credit/debit card or click COD in checkout and send a $50 check to 23719 Hazel Rd. Elkport, IA 52044. Reservations are pending until deposit is received.  Deposits are non-refundable.

Step 2: Choose how you want your half hog processed

We will process hogs in November at both Elma Locker and Edgewood Locker. Please note your preference for Elma Locker or Edgewood Locker in the “special instructionsr” box when you order online. 2 weeks before processing, we will send you resources to help you give your processing instructions to the locker. There are lots of options, so please reach out to us and/or our processors with questions. 

Step 3: Pay processing fee and producer fee

After your half hog is processed, the Locker will bill you for the processing fees. We will send you an invoice separately for the remainder of the producer fee (minus your deposit!)

Producer fee (half hog): $4/per pound hanging weight (60-90lbs)

Processing fees (half hog): start at $0.83/per pound hanging weight plus $26 slaughter fee (processing fees are subject to change without notice and vary by processor and product, check elmalocker.com and edgewoodlocker.com for current prices). 

Step 4: Pick up your tasty pastured pork directly from the processor approximately 3 weeks after processing date (or contact us to arrange delivery).
